A multidisciplinary creative, Emily Carroll maintains one constant across her work: a comfort in the tension. She constantly seeks the balance between a disciplined "itch" for architectural structure and the daunting freedom of the natural world. In this series of mini paintings, she deliberately steps away from the local vernacular to share glimpses of the places that have shaped her perspective. Each piece is a meditation on the comfort found in inking a scene and the wild, life-like unpredictability of watercolor. By documenting meaningful locations, she aims to challenge the boundaries of our everyday view, encouraging others to find their own creative inspiration in the vast world that exists outside the frame of the familiar.

Daneisha is a visual artist and business owner based in SWLA. She designs and illustrates a variety of gift items that can be found in several stores across the country. While her primary work is digital illustration, she has recently begun dabbling in printmaking. The piece she created for this collection is a handprinted bird. She considers it an apt avian avatar of herself. For she, too, is often unsure, confused, and has no idea what’s happening.

Functioning on caffeine, 3 AM inspiration, and tremendous amounts of spite —Love is an artist that grew up right here in Lake Charles (and definitely not just three raccoons in a trench coat). 

She has dabbled in just about any medium she can get her gremlin hands on, but her absolute favorite will always be acrylic paints. So much so, that she enjoys teaching others to use them.

When not scrambling to finish a project in one sitting, she also enjoys writing or conveniently forgetting responsibilities with a good farming simulator. She loves a cozy game, her cat, and a well deserved snack.

Amanda feels most at home when surrounded by or creating art. Her current work explores gel printing and printmaking, focusing on layering and texture. In this collection, each piece begins with an image within a white border, followed by an additional layer applied across the entire surface to create depth and visual interaction.  

Barbara is a Louisiana artist, storyteller, and naturalist whose heart lives somewhere between the Gulf waters and the wildflowers. She is a lifelong lover of nature and community. Through her work with the Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists, Barbara has spent years teaching others to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the wonder in the world around them.

Her Lil Couyons, were born from that same spirit—tiny, whimsical characters who wander through forests, fields, and bayous with curiosity, kindness, and just a touch of mischief. Each couyon she creates is a celebration of compassion, color, and the belief that even the smallest creatures can brighten the world.

Bella is a mixed media artist who loves to paint, illustrate, and play with clay. A creative since birth, her whimsical realism is harnessed through her emotion and creative desire.
